Deuteronomy 28:45-47

⁴⁵ All of these curses shall come upon you. They shall pursue and overtake you until you have been destroyed, for you did not obey the voice of the Lord, your God, and observe the commandments and statutes that he gave you. ⁴⁶ This shall be a sign and a wonder to you and your descendants forever,^{[a] 47} for you shall not have served the Lord, your God, joyfully and gladly in a time of prosperity.
